Mental Elf Festive Fun Run 2023

The ‘Mental Elf’ Christmas Fun Run surpassed all expectations, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of individuals, families, and local businesses from the mid and north Powys community.

The event transformed Newtown’s Dolerw Park into a winter wonderland, complete with Santa’s Grotto, handmade gifts, a tombola, a raffle, free kids’ crafts, and refreshments.

The core purpose of the ‘Mental Elf’ Christmas Fun Run/Walk was to raise awareness of mental health and the positive mental health benefits of exercise, as well as raising funds for local and much needed mental health services, delivered by Mid & North Powys Mind. The event succeeded not only in creating a memorable holiday experience but also in making a substantial contribution to the vital cause of mental health awareness and support.

We sold 243 tickets for the fun run/walk in total.  And 70 tickets for our Santa’s Grotto.

We set a fundraising target of £2,500, which (even though there is still sponsorship monies still being handed in), we have now exceeded.
